NAD+ Drug & Alcohol Detox Support

Admission begins with a consultation and medical screening. We review your medical history, medications, current substance use, withdrawal risk, and ability to participate in scheduled visits. Enrollment is determined individually; we cannot accept everyone into an outpatient program.

Some people need medically supervised withdrawal or a higher level of care before outpatient support is appropriate. Do not abruptly stop alcohol or benzodiazepines to prepare for an appointment.

• Low-dose naltrexone, only when clinically appropriate

Your provider determines the combination and schedule after your assessment. The plan may change based on your response.

NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular energy production and other essential functions throughout the body, including the nervous system. During recovery, patients may be dealing with fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and other physical demands. Early studies have explored whether NAD+ infusions may help people with substance use disorders, including cravings, but the evidence is still preliminary. We use NAD+ as supportive care within a broader recovery plan. 

This is a multi-session program that requires consistent attendance and active participation. We ask patients to communicate honestly about medications and substance use, follow their care plan, prioritize hydration and nutrition, and engage with counseling or other recovery support when appropriate. 

A plan that takes time. NAD+ detox support typically involves multiple sessions. Infusion time varies by dose and individual tolerance; higher-dose visits may take 6–8 hours.

Support beyond the infusion. Hydration, nutrition, rest, and honest communication about substance use and medications are important throughout the protocol. Counseling, support groups, or other treatment may also be part of your recovery plan.

Adjustments along the way. Your provider may change the infusion schedule or recommend additional support based on how you respond. We’ll discuss any additional services and costs before proceeding.

Medical screening comes first. NAD+ therapy is supportive care; it does not replace medically managed withdrawal or established substance use treatment. Do not stop alcohol or benzodiazepines abruptly in preparation for a visit. Withdrawal from these substances can require medical supervision, and benzodiazepines may need a gradual clinical taper.

This outpatient program does not replace emergency care, medically supervised withdrawal, counseling, or established substance use treatment when those services are needed. 

Our outpatient program requires a safe, respectful environment and active participation. Patients are expected to:

• Attend scheduled visits and let us know promptly if plans change.
• Give our clinical team complete, accurate information about medications, alcohol, and other substance use.
• Follow the agreed care plan and discuss concerns or setbacks openly.
• Arrive able to participate safely in treatment.
• Treat staff and other patients respectfully. Threats, aggression, or disruptive behavior are not permitted.

Renewed Vitality may pause or discontinue outpatient treatment if we determine that the program is no longer safe or appropriate. When a higher level of care is needed, we will discuss that with the patient.
